Ginza Kagari Main Store

“Ginza Kagari Main Store” is famous for its chicken paitan ramen.

It was listed in the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand in 2016 and 2017.
This ramen has a rich yet delicate flavor that spreads in your mouth.

A characteristic feature of this ramen is the generous amount of vegetables as toppings.
Any menu item you order will be delicious, but the most recommended one is the “Chicken Paitan SOBA.”

Chicken Paitan SOBA (Single Price: 1,200 yen)

It’s often described as having a thick, creamy taste, similar to a potage, but it’s actually slightly different.

It’s lighter than a potage and doesn’t have a high viscosity in the soup. The consistency of the soup is somewhere between a thick and thin broth.

Additionally, the soup doesn’t emphasize sweetness, making it a delicate ramen that is more suited to men’s tastes.

Shina Men Hashigo Main Store

“Shina Men Hashigo Main Store” is famous for its Tandan noodles.
This shop offers ramen where you can experience the spicy kick of chili peppers along with the numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns.

Tai Niku Tandanmen (Single Price: 1,000 yen)

The soup is a soy-based broth with a strong sesame flavor, a unique balance of spiciness, acidity, and umami that makes it addictive.

The topping of “Tai Niku (Da Luo) Chashu” is so tender that it practically falls apart when you pick it up with chopsticks.

One notable feature of this shop is that when you order noodles, you get a serving of rice as a service.

Additionally, the pickled daikon (takuan) on the table adds a nice touch.
There are even fans who say, “I come here just to eat the takuan.”

If you’re looking for Tandan noodles in Ginza, this is the place to go.

Yaki Ago (grilled ago) Shio (salty) Ramen Takahashi Ginza Store

Grilled Ago Shio Ramen (900 yen)

“Grilled Ago Shio Ramen Takahashi Ginza Store” is a ramen shop specializing in a rare type of ramen called grilled ago shio ramen. The interior consists only of counter seats.

The base is a salt ramen with the addition of a rich ago (flying fish) dashi broth.

While using seafood-based dashi, the flavor is relatively mild, allowing for a light and easy meal.

Since it’s not a rich ramen, some men may find it a bit lacking, but it has a nice saltiness, making it a perfect option for those who enjoy lighter ramen.

Additionally, the “Chazuke Set” (1,000 yen), where you add white rice to the remaining soup at the end to make a tea rice dish, is highly recommended.

Kamitoku

Kamitoku Ramen (700 yen)

“Shin-Okubo” is a shop that offers the famous ramen from Tottori Prefecture, called “Kamitoku.”

The specialty beef bone ramen has less odor compared to pork bone ramen, which is a key feature.

It’s rich but has a clean finish, making it surprisingly easy to eat. For those who find pork bone ramen too heavy, beef bone ramen might be a more enjoyable option.

It’s light yet satisfying, but it’s not overly heavy. That’s the unique characteristic of this ramen.

Also, on the 5th day of each month, you can get three types of ramen for 550 yen each.

The recommended ramen are Kamitoku, Kamitoku White, and Kamitoku Shoyu. Each has a distinct flavor, so I recommend trying all three over three visits.

Ginza Hachigou

“Ginza Hachigou” is an extremely famous and popular ramen shop in Ginza.

The moment you step inside, you’ll be struck by the luxurious atmosphere, giving you the impression of “The Ramen of Ginza.”

Specialty Chinese Soba (1,050 yen)

Once the soup runs out, they close the shop, and they’ve adopted a system where you write your name on a board at the shop’s entrance to make a reservation.

To secure a spot, you have to arrive early, whether for lunch or dinner, as they often sell out before noon (you can leave the line freely after writing your name).

They update the soup availability on their official Twitter, and it often sells out by 10:30 AM, even before opening.

The ramen, created by a chef who has mastered French cuisine, is worth waking up early and lining up for.

Men-dokoro Ginza Ginzasa

Ginzasa Shio Ramen (850 yen)

“Men-dokoro Ginza Ginzasa” is a ramen shop known for its Tai-chazuke, a rice dish served with ramen soup. However, it’s important to note that the ramen soup here is not a Tai-dashi ramen, but a shio (salt) ramen.

The location is closer to Shimbashi Station than Ginza Station.

The shio ramen is light yet has a strong flavor. The broth, which combines kombu (kelp), niboshi (dried sardines), and animal-based ingredients, has a bit of a distinctive taste.

While it is tasty, personally, I find it to be a bit too strong for a shio ramen. That said, the majority of people find this strong flavor to be appealing.

Personally, I recommend ending your meal with Tai-meshi Chazuke, the rice served with the broth.

The taste of the ramen soup pairs perfectly with the Tai-meshi. It can be a bit filling, but it’s definitely something you should try.

Mugi to Olive Ginza Main Store

“Mugi to Olive Ginza Main Store” has a stylish appearance that doesn’t look like a ramen shop at all. It feels more like a cafe.

The font of the restaurant’s sign is cute, and the atmosphere is such that it’s easy for women to visit.

All of the menu items are delicious, but the recommendation is the “Special Hamaguri SOBA.”

This is the shop’s most popular dish. The ramen, with a strong clam broth, has a gentle yet powerful flavor.

Because it’s a popular place, you might have to wait, but if you avoid lunchtime, you should be able to get in more easily.

This is a ramen shop especially recommended for women.

Kyushu Jangara Ginza Store

Bonsan (780 yen)

“Kyushu Jangara Ginza Store” is the place to go if you’re craving Kyushu-style tonkotsu ramen.

This place is especially recommended for those who want to eat a hearty meal with a second helping of noodles (kaedama).

The taste is based on the classic Hakata tonkotsu ramen, but there’s a unique deliciousness that can only be found here.

Personally, I love their spicy takana (mustard greens), which can be added as a free topping. It’s much spicier than regular takana, so it’s best to add it little by little if it’s your first time.

I love the spicy taste of the takana so much that I often end up sweating while eating. It pairs really well with white rice, and you can even take some home! If you love it, I’d recommend buying some to take away.

Fugu Dashi Shio Hachidaime Keisuke Ginza

Fugu Dashi Shio Ramen Kiwami (1,550 yen)

“Fugu Dashi Shio Hachidaime Keisuke Ginza” is a ramen shop located in the basement of Tokyu Plaza. This shop uses fugu (blowfish) stock, which is quite rare.

Since it uses fugu, the price is a bit on the higher side.

The taste of the fugu is strong, so if you like fugu broth, you’ll probably love this dish. However, if you don’t like the smell of seafood, you might find it overpowering.

It’s a popular shop with delicious ramen, but personally, I often choose other shops over this one.

That said, I do recommend trying it at least once. For first-timers, it’s definitely a shop to consider.

Due Italian

Ramen Prosciutto e Fromage (1,180 yen)

Due Italian is the same place that serves “Ramen Lemon & Fromage,” which was featured as a “Ginza date spot” in the “Marronnier Gate” review. It’s a Michelin Guide-listed, very popular restaurant.

Their two main items are the “Ramen Prosciutto e Fromage,” a golden salt ramen, and “Lemon Ramen.”

The Ramen Prosciutto e Fromage features creamy cheese mixed into the salt ramen, with prosciutto replacing the usual chashu pork. It’s an Italian-style ramen that surprises people with its taste.

They also offer a risotto made with “Bijinmai” rice as a great finishing dish.

Rice for Risotto (included in the course menu)

The “Lemon Ramen” is a very sour ramen with lemon slices throughout.

This ramen is especially popular with women and is a niche flavor, but those who enjoy it really love it!

However, if you’re a man or don’t like sour food, the “Ramen Prosciutto e Fromage” might be a better option for you.

Either way, this place is highly recommended.
